Cadillac Super Cruise Driver Assistance

The Cadillac Super Cruise is a hands-free driving assistance system available on more than 130,000 miles of limited-access freeways that are separated from oncoming traffic. This much-talked-about Cadillac hands-free driving system is available on 2018 and 2019 Cadillac CT6 models.

How Does This Cadillac Hands-free Driving System Work?

When an attentive driver is behind the wheel on some Morton roads and in safe driving conditions, you can enjoy hands-free driving with the Super Cruise. This intuitive system works with Adaptive Cruise Control to control acceleration and braking when enabled and operating.

Super Cruise supports services through OnStar®, as well as precision LiDAR mapping. It works with your in-car cameras, radar sensors, and GPS to identify each curve and hill on the Bloomington streets and beyond. Cadillac’s hands-free driving system is there to make the most extended drives more comfortable. The Super Cruise package includes three years of OnStar® for functionality support.

How to Activate Super Cruise

Follow these three easy steps to activated Super Cruise Cadillac hands-free driving:

  1. Press the Adaptive Cruise Control button on the steering wheel to activate the system. The symbol on the instrument cluster will illuminate in WHITE. If the adaptive cruise control is already set, the symbol will be displayed in GREEN with your speed shown.
  2.

  3. When the system detects that you’re on a limited-access freeway, entirely focused, and the driving conditions below are met, the Super Cruise symbol will illuminate WHITE on the instrument cluster, indicating its availability. The other driving conditions include:
    • Lane markings visible
    • GPA available
    • NO system faults
  4.

  5. When it’s safe, press the Super Cruise button on your Cadillac steering wheel to engage the system. Then, the symbol and the steering wheel light bar will illuminate GREEN. When it does, you can remove your hands from the steering wheel. Do not remove your hands from the wheel unless the light bar is green. Super Cruise is now activated and steering your vehicle. If you want to disengage the hands-free driving system, press the Super Cruise button again or gently press the brake pedal.
