WINTER ISN’T OVER YET: HOW TO GET YOUR CADILLAC TO SPRING
Phil the groundhog did not see his shadow, which means we are in for an early spring. However, our current weather in Illinois is nowhere near spring weather. From snow to freezing rain the roads can still be extremely dangerous. Is your Cadillac still prepared for winter weather?
Here are a few tips and tricks to keep your car safe until spring shows up:
• Worn tires are dangerous on roads in winter weather conditions. Examine the tires for remaining tread life, uneven wearing, and cupping. Also, be aware extreme drops in temperature can affect tire pressure, so keep an eye out for that warning light and check tire pressure more frequently.
• Get your brakes checked. In order to stay clear from a car accident make sure to gradually break when coming to any stop in snow or icy conditions. If you notice any odd breaking issues bring your car in right away.
• Flush your cooling system. In order to protect your Cadillac’s cooling and heating system from freezing it is helpful to flush out the system. The cooling system ensures the engine of your car will operate efficiently.
• Carry an emergency kit. Always be prepared for the worst situations. Keep an emergency winter kit in your car with extra gloves, a blanket, a flashlight, and a small shovel. Your floor mats on your car can also help you get unstuck if you place them under your drive wheels.
Following these tips and tricks until spring arrives will help your Cadillac last longer. Our service team here at Ray Dennison Cadillac has a wide range of knowledge. If you need your brakes checked or tires checked schedule an appointment or give us a call with any questions.
